Performance Is A Lie

performance vs excellence

You’re Acting in a Life That Was Meant to Be Lived
Wake the hell up.

You’re not living. You’re performing.
And your soul? No wonder you don’t feel it, it’s choking…

You don’t even realize it, because the act is so good, so polished, so rehearsed. You’ve been doing it for years, at work, on social media, with your partner, even when you’re alone. You’ve turned your existence into a stage production. Every word is a script. Every gesture is curated. Every silence is timed. And deep inside, your soul is SCREAMING:

“This isn’t what I came for.”

Let’s stop pretending this is normal. It’s not. It’s not healthy. It’s not powerful. It’s not divine.

It’s a damn lie, and deep down inside you know it, else you wouldn’t spend time reading this.

The Global Stage of Pretending

Look around.

Performance has infected everything.

  • In the office, you’re faking drive for metrics that actually don’t matter.
  • On Instagram, you’re filtering your truth into a perfect script of deception.
  • In your relationships, you’re playing the “stable one,” the “fun one,” the “unbothered one.”
  • In bed? You’re acting intimacy like it’s a scene from a porn script. Hollow. Timed. Scored. Lifeless.

You’ve mistaken optics for excellence.
Likes for love.
KPIs for purpose.

This is spiritual suicide.

And we’re all doing it. Collectively writing fiction in the Book of Life. Pages and pages of carefully crafted lies to avoid facing what we truly feel: lost, unfulfilled, scared, and tired of pretending.

The Soul Hates Scripts

Your soul didn’t incarnate to be liked.
It came to ignite.

It came to write poetry in action, to create with wild love, to feel the damn thing, all of it. Joy. Rage. Passion. Stillness. Devotion. It makes it ecstatic… Yes I know, the little human mind feels the emotions that come with the soul’s ride but it’s your job to deal with them too.

But now what? the Human is buried under performance anxiety.

Every fake laugh.
Every staged smile.
Every dead “I’m fine.”

You can’t fool the divine.
And the divine is watching.

Why Performance Is Killing You

Let’s burn the excuses. Here’s the truth:

1. Performance Kills Truth

Every time you act like someone else, you abandon your core. That mask you wear? It’s not you. And over time, you forget what the real you even looks like. That’s where depression starts, not from sadness, but from disconnection from self.

2. Performance Kills Excellence

Excellence is messy and Bloody. It’s staying up all night to write something no one might read. I am used to that one and still love it. It’s failing ten times before building something meaningful. Performance avoids risk to look good. It’s fake. It’s safe. It’s boringly mid.

3. Performance Kills Love

True love isn’t polished. It’s not cute. It’s not always romantic. It’s fierce. It’s vulnerable. It says “I’m afraid” and “I’m here anyway.” Performance turns love into manipulation. It mimics affection while avoiding real connection. You can’t fake your way to intimacy. Fake is Fake.

4. Performance Kills Purpose

You were born to leave a mark. But you’ve turned your life into a checklist: do this, say that, don’t rock the boat. And your purpose? It’s rotting while you chase validation from an invisible audience that doesn’t even care.

It’s Time to Burn the Script

No more pretending.

Rip it. Burn it. Bury it.

Your soul is not here to perform. It’s here to BE.
To blaze. To build. To weep. To worship. To love like it’s oxygen.

To live a life so real, it scares people still stuck in performance mode.

And no, this won’t be comfortable. But it will be freeing. Finally. After years of acting.

You’ll breathe.
You’ll cry for real.
You’ll fall in love with life again.

Not the filtered one, the raw one.

Forget Applause. Be Real.

Let this land:

You weren’t born to be a brand.
You weren’t born to be productive.
You weren’t born to be palatable.

You were born to tell the truth.
Live the truth.
And die with your heart empty because you gave it all.

Stop performing for likes.
Stop performing for love.
Stop performing for survival.

You’re already enough. You’re already whole.

And Now What?

Sit with yourself. Ask the real question:

Where am I still acting?
Then destroy it.

Not tomorrow. Not next month. Now.

The fire is waiting.
And your soul?
It’s begging to be seen again.

Let this be your rebirth and you know where we are when you get tired of your lies…
