We like to believe we see the world as it is. That our eyes are windows, passively observing what’s “out there.”
But this is one of the greatest illusions in human experience.
You don’t see reality. You see your mind’s rendering of reality.
And that rendering is never neutral.
The Illusion of Objectivity
Let’s break it down.
When you look at something, your eyes don’t transmit a perfect image to your brain. Instead, they convert light into electrical signals. These signals are then decoded by your brain, interpreted through layers of memory, belief, fear, past trauma, and cultural conditioning.
So what you “see” isn’t what is. It’s what your brain thinks is safe, expected, or familiar.
That means every image, every sound, every emotion passes through an internal filter called you.
You Don’t See Reality, You Project It
If you were abandoned as a child, you may see abandonment where there is none. If you were betrayed, you might see deception in innocent faces. If you’ve healed, you might see peace even in chaos.
This isn’t metaphysics. This is how the brain works.
Your mind doesn’t show you what’s true. It shows you what matches your internal programming.
So when someone else doesn’t understand your truth, remember:
- They’re not broken.
- You’re not crazy.
- You’re just seeing through different lenses.
The Terrain Defines the View
Imagine two people on opposite sides of a mountain. One sees sunrise. The other, darkness.
Same mountain. Different position.
The mind is no different. The “terrain” of your psyche—your beliefs, wounds, fears, values, and hopes—shapes how the world appears.
- An unhealed person sees threats.
- A narcissist sees tools and pawns.
- A conscious being sees reflections and lessons.
What you see is not the world. It’s your inner world projected outward.
This is why healing isn’t just personal. It’s perceptual.
When you change within, the world doesn’t just feel different. It literally becomes different.
Psychology Meets Quantum Perception
Modern psychology tells us that cognitive biases and trauma shape behavior. Quantum psychology goes deeper:
There is no “out there” until you observe it.
The observer affects the observed. The lens changes the light. Your perception creates interaction, not just observation.
This is why:
- Healing shifts your reality.
- Forgiveness changes outcomes.
- Awareness dissolves projection.
You are not watching life. You are co-creating it, moment by moment, with your mind and soul.
Brutal Truth: You Might Be Living in Delusion
It is possible to be spiritually confident but psychologically blind. To preach mindset while projecting unhealed fear. To manifest chaos because your inner terrain is still wounded.
If the world keeps showing you pain, drama, failure—it may not be a curse. It may be a mirror.
And when you finally see that the cage was inside you all along, you stop blaming the world. You start reclaiming your power.
Change the Terrain, Change the View
You don’t need to fix the world. You need to fix the filter.
You don’t need new eyes. You need new perception.
The day you realize you never saw reality as it is is the day you begin to build a new one—with intention, integrity, and inner clarity.
Heal yourself, and the world around you starts making sense.
Your eyes see light. Your mind sees meaning. And you decide what that meaning becomes.

The part about our brain decoding signals through the filters of trauma, belief, and culture really resonated with me. It’s a powerful reminder that we are not just seeing the world. We are seeing a version shaped by everything we have experienced…
